I'm Barry Kearney, a Melbourne based photographer. I was a finalist in the 2016 $25,000 Monash Gallery of Art Bowness Prize and a semifinalist in the 2016 $50,000 Moran Australian Contemporary Photographic Prize. These are Australia's two most prestigious photographic prizes.

At Melbourne Portrait Photography we love making beautiful photos of people - head shots, portraits, family and events.

I'm a father of 4, with 8 grandkids and 27 nephews and nieces (they have 58 more). I love taking photos of children - being themselves. And emotional moments with their parents. My favourite movie is "Sleepless in Seattle" - favourite scene is Tom Hanks (whose wife has died) playing with his little boy on the beach, throwing him in the air. It makes me a little teary. It's just that kind of image we like to catch in our Family Documentary Photography sessions.
